First trip to the zoo

This past Wednesday our playgroup went to the Fort Worth Zoo (I missed last year's trip because I was still on that two-nap thing). I was able to see a lot of animals that I had never seen before in person and rode on a train for the first time. My new friends Lane and Cole (their mommy is friends with mine and used to work together) even met us out there. Since one of my favorite things is animals (next to milk, my blanket, vehicles, shapes, the Wiggles, Sesame Street, etc.), I loved the zoo! I didn't even mind that my only nap was in the car ride home . . . Mommy seemed to mind that part a lot. I found out that she apparently uses my nap time to do other things. What's up with that? It's not like I get in the way when I'm awake.

Voted Best Looking 2007-08

As you can see from our class picture (I'm standing, second on the right), all of my classmates are cute, but my folks think that I'm by far the most adorable (of course!). One thing is for sure, I am one of the smallest (and youngest) so why did they stick me next to the tall kid? And why am I the only one not looking, you ask? It's because I wanted to go against the grain and give the photographer my "aloof model" expression. Next year I'll do my "pensive intellectual" look.

Welcome Home, Natalie and Gavin!

This past Thursday Aunt Mimi and Nona came back from Russia with my two new cousins (Uncle Sam had come back earlier to go work). Natalie just turned three (like Mikinley) and Gavin is my age, so I have a few tricks to teach him (like having the most effective tantrum and how not to take "no" for an answer).

The whole family (including Sam, Papa, and the Kidds) went to the airport early to greet them, but it ended up being a couple of hours before they got out of customs. Fortunately, Kyleigh and Mikinley were there to keep me entertained otherwise Mommy and Daddy were going to visit that sports bar in the terminal.

On top of Aunt Mimi and Nona being gone for about a month (I missed Nona almost as much as Papa did), it was a long trip home for them with an overnight stay in South Korea and then a transfer in Japan, but they finally made it here safely. Even after such an exhausting ordeal, they all looked great. We are all excited to have Natalie and Gavin here!

Mommy's Back!

Mommy had a great weekend with her friends at the lake and so did we at home. Daddy took me to the park and out to eat with Papa. He even took me to Caden's 5th birthday party and I got to bowl a couple of sets- I had so much fun! When Mommy's with me I usually have my camera, but I forgot it this weekend without her so there are no pics of my first bowling experience.

Mommy smothered me with hugs and kisses when she came home. She talked about how nice it was to not have to take care of anyone for a couple of days. I didn't realize that taking care of Daddy was such hard work.

Bachelor Weekend

Tonight Mommy is going to the lake with her friends so it's just going to be the boys this weekend. The only other time Mommy went out of town without Daddy, Chopper and me was last year's lake trip, but it was only for one night; I was still on the bottle and taking three naps a day so Daddy had an easy time. Now I am an opinionated toddler with a picky appetite and the inability to stay home for more than a few hours at a time. Lucky for Daddy I still take a 2-3 hour nap and go to bed early. Mommy says that she's going to miss us, but she can also be very sarcastic.
