Offline

My folks are taking another one of their trips without me tomorrow. This time they are going to Cabo San Lucas with a group of their friends and they won't be back until next week. Nona is kind enough to keep me company in the meantime and we'll have dinner with Papa each night.

Unfortunately, Mommy will be bringing her camera with her so I won't be able to take any pictures of myself and update you all with my cuteness. Besides, I'll be busy keeping Nona and Papa occupied (I don't want them to get bored while I'm on the computer- that's so rude).

Big Birthday Bonanza!

I had many celebrations for my 2nd birthday. For our Wednesday playgroup, Mommy invited everyone to Peter Piper Pizza. Daddy even stopped by but left quickly; he said it was because of work but Mommy suspects that he was intimidated by being the only man there.

For my last day of school on Thursday (yes, my mom is very sad), Mommy made cupcakes for me to share with my classmates after lunch. The teachers had to change my shirt after those cupcakes since it was so messy.
This Saturday, we had a family birthday party with all the Termulos (minus Aunt Toby- she was sick) and the Hoges. I had a blast playing with ALL of my cousins- Reese, JP, Kyleigh, Mikinley, Natalie and Gavin. Daddy and Mommy were a bit freaked out by the huge mess since they're not used to so many kids in the house, but they all helped put away the toys (at least their parents did). We even took the first ever Hoge family picture; unfortunately, someone forgot to grab Chopper. We didn't end up taking a Termulo family picture- it wouldn't be complete without Aunt Toby.

Yesterday, my actual birthday, Mommy convinced Daddy to have dinner at the mall so that I can do all my favorite things- ride on the elevator, escalator and carousel, play in the play area, and eat Chick-fil-a. I'm not very high maintenance in what makes me happy.

Mommy branded herself "Mother of the Week" for all her work on my birthday celebrations, but Daddy calls her "Mother of the Year." She has trained him well.

My Second Mother's Day

On Sunday we went to Kyleigh and Mikinley's house for Mother's Day. Although they live the furthest away from everyone, they have the most stuff for the kids to play with (and ALL of it is pink). It was the first time that the entire Hoge family got together since Natalie and Gavin arrived to the states a month ago. We celebrated the big day for Mom, but really it should have been about me since I'm the sole reason she even gets a day of recognition.

Muffins with Mom

This morning we had "Muffins with Mom" at school. Mom, I mean Mommy, was nervous about sticking around for breakfast since every time she had stayed for a parties I wanted her to hold me (sometimes a change in my routine throws me off). But this time I went straight to the table to eat my food and didn't seem to notice that Mom, I mean Mommy, was there. What I did notice was that her muffin was much bigger than mine so I wanted hers too. She stayed for circle time to take pictures, and when she left I gave her a kiss and sat back down with just a little frown.

Here's a video of us during circle time (Mom, I mean Mommy, only had her digital camera and it kept focusing in and out):

The Coolest Mom

I'm about to be two years old, which is pretty grown up, so I started calling my Mommy "Mom." She tries to correct me, but I'm pretty stuck on my her new name. In any case, she's pretty cool because she let me play in the rain this afternoon. Of course, she may not have stopped me because she was just killing time until Daddy came home (I haven't renamed him yet).

2nd Annual White Trash Cookout

The day after my first birthday bash last year, the folks had all the neighbors over for a cookout to finish the remaining food. It ended up looking a bit white trash with the grill on the driveway and the Soliz's small bounce house on the sidewalk. But, we had such a good time that we made it an annual tradition. On Friday, the neighbors came over and we grilled out again on the driveway. Despite Daddy's analness, the kids used chalk all over our driveway and sidewalk.
I was having so much fun, I even let other people hold me without protesting. Mommy took this picture of me and Mr. Jason as proof (note the return of the bounce house behind us).

While I stuck to my favorite beverage (milk), the adults had their own juice and even stayed up way after I went to bed enjoying their drinks. I'm not sure that I can call it a white trash party since Daddy's the only caucasian one in our house (I'm only half, remember?).
