I realize that it's not officially spring, but since the weather has been so mild lately it just seems like we've hardly had a winter. Despite the fact that it was 70 degrees this past weekend, it snowed a lot last night. I wasn't that fond of it falling on my head so I mostly just watched the accumulation through the window. Daddy was so excited about it that later in the evening he walked to the park by himself to see it all (probably scaring all of our neighbors). The next morning, most of the snow was still on the ground. I wasn't a big fan of walking in it, but it was pretty just to look at. People here get a little freaked out about even the smallest bit of moisture during freezing temperatures, so Mommy was very thankful that my school wasn't cancelled.

My Trip to San Antonio
I had a really busy but fun time in San Antonio. Lola took care of me on Thursday while Mommy went to a lot of sessions at her convention; she's big into all that learning stuff for her speech pathology license. I played with my cousin Jacob on Friday at his house (Caleb was in school at the time so he couldn't enjoy my company), and Lola Arlene (my Lola's sister) came over to play with me as well. Daddy came that afternoon just in time for my big tantrum at Lola and Papo's favorite sushi restaurant. After I calmed down I did eat soft-shelled crab for the first time- yummy!
Daddy and I went with Mommy on Saturday to her convention downtown and looked around the Riverwalk; that river water didn't look as good as our pool so I wasn't interested in jumping in. My grandparents live on the golf course, so later we went on a ride in Papo's golf cart and Daddy even played a hole when no one else was around (apparently there's a course marshall that doesn't like you to do that).
And finally on Sunday, I played at Lola and Papo's church nursery which was WAY cooler and bigger than that nursery in our church- I didn't even want to leave when Mommy came to get me. We ate a Mexican brunch with Lola Aurora (my Papo's sister) and I visited my great grandmother (great Lola?) before I had another tantrum. I don't know why my parents haven't picked up on the fact that I'm not happy when I'm tired. For the long car ride home, I made sure my folks knew how much I do not tolerate lengthy trips confined in my car seat.

Off to San Antonio
Today Mommy, Chopper, and I are driving down to San Antonio so that I can visit Lola and Papo while Mommy attends her annual speech-language-hearing convention (sounds really exciting, I know). Daddy will fly down on Friday . . . mostly to play golf with Papo. I'll be sure to update my blog next week with pictures.

Valentine's Day
Our playgroup had a Valentine's party at Meredith and Caroline's house. It was a lot of fun especially because there were a lot of cookies and I got a lot of Valentine treats in my box.
Daddy really hates this "holiday" and feels that it should be boycotted, but he knows that he'd get into big trouble. However, Mommy let him off easy this year and just asked him to cook her favorite dinner- boiled crawfish. Those poor critters. Mommy obviously isn't a PETA cardholder.

Super Bowl Sunday
Daddy and his friends play fantasy football every season, and the top two winners are captains of their annual flag football game on Super Bowl Sunday. Daddy's team won, but not without him significantly injuring his back yet again in another sporting event.
I had a good time seeing some of my friends whom I hadn't seen in a few weeks. I also enjoyed kicking around the soccer ball and throwing the football. I'm starting to practice my spiral throw for the time that we kids have to take over the game for the dads (probably in just a few years at this rate).

Keeping Daddy Fit
Daddy likes to run outside a lot to stay in shape, but maybe he should cancel his gym membership because he can just lift weights at home.

MIA
Sorry I've been missing in action but I've had nothing new or interesting to report. In the past week or so I've just been busy with school, playgroups, birthday parties, birthday parties, and more birthday parties. We have also discovered that the so-called terrible twos is a misnomer and can actually start several months preceding one's second birthday.
