Halloween

I have been looking forward to this Halloween since November 1st last year. I actually picked my own costume this time and even kept a hat on my head! I wanted to be a police officer so naturally Mya had to dress up as a prisoner (a super cute and innocent one though). We both loved collecting treats from our neighbors and then not sharing one single bite with one another once we got home.

And we're off!

Mya was tired of holding her bag so she decided to wear it around her neck (and despite the obvious strangulation hazzard, my folks didn't stop her).

Check out some of my/our past Halloweens: 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Pumpkin Patch

It has been an annual fall tradition to jump start our allergies by visiting the pumpkin patch. Another constant is Mya refusing to be in a "posed" picture with me.

First Day of School

After Labor Day, we finally started school! Boy, was I ready to head back. Mom was running out of activities, and I was getting so tired of going to the gym. You'd think that my mom would have her high school figure back by how much we went.

So, first we had Meet the Teacher. I was very excited to finally see my new preschool teachers and classroom. This is Mya's first time in Mother's Day Out so she had no idea what to expect.

Our first day started out uneventfully. I did forget to tell my mom goodbye, but she understood that I wanted to get to work (and she was embarrassing me with all the picture taking). However, my sweet sister didn't know what was about to happen- she was left there for a whole five hours! The horror! She barely ate and didn't sleep, but she did survive her first day. Now she doesn't even cry when she is dropped off.

Trip to San Antonio

For Labor Day weekend, we trekked down to San Antonio to visit Lola and Papo. It was actually another "Termulo gathering" because my cousins came also. It was a first to have all of us staying under one roof (the last time we were all together in S.A., Mya wasn't born yet). I had so much fun with my cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and of course riding on the infamous golf cart! My sister especially liked playing with Reese. I guess she gets tired of her big brother bossing her around.

Mya actually slept for an hour on the way down there but coming back home was a different story!

Another Haircut

Mya's hair was getting a bit long again (but still not as out of control as it was previously), so we took her took get it trimmed up. We spared Nona the hassle since it was time for me to get one, too.
(Yes, that is me sitting in a pink Jeep. Yes, I chose that pink Jeep over the red Corvette this time.)

Vacation Bible School

Mom was sooooo extremely excited that this summer I am old enough to go to Vacation Bible School. Actually, I went to two different churches (we don't discriminate when it comes to summer activities). I had a lot of fun both weeks and actually enjoyed seeing another church besides our own. My mom was especially glad that there was another fun and age-appropriate way for me to learn about God; I know this because every day she thanked Him for VBS when she dropped me off.

Fourth of July

To celebrate the anniversary that America declared independence from the England, mom dressed us up in patriotic colors and attempted to take pictures of us again. We went to see fireworks. Actually, Nona was nice enough to stay at home while Mya slept and my folks took me out WAY past my bedtime- and we were ALL feeling it the next day.

Happy belated Father's Day to my awesome Dad, Papa, and Papo! We love you!

FOUR!

It's official. I turned four years old on the 19th. But, of course, the celebrations were spread out over a week's period. First, I brought cupcakes to school a week early on the 13th (all of our birthdays are around the same time so we're assigned a specific day to bring treats). The whole school decided to recognize my big day by making it Hawaiian Spirit Day. Ok, it was a coincidence but still a nice thought.

My party on the 14th was with my playgroup friends at the new McDonald's (Mom got REALLY lazy this year). Who knew that 20 kids and their moms could fit into the play area there?

On my actual birthday I ate birthday pancakes for breakfast, went to playgroup at the mall for lunch, and had dinner at Gatti Town (maybe we need to re-evaluate our diet?). We played so many games; Mya was no challenge in bowling and I "scored" my folks. How embarrassing for them.

Mother's Day

Each year at school we celebrate Muffins with Mom. Usually I eat everything off of my plate and Mom's, but this time Mya did that for me. She also ate the food off of my classmates and their moms. We did something different this year for Mother's Day. Kyleigh and Mikinley (ok, so actually their parents) have a horse, Backstrap, that was racing at Lone Star Park on Sunday, so the whole family spent the afternoon watching the races. How else would you honor your mother than gambling away her retirement? We were able to go down to where the horses get ready and meet the trainers and jockeys. Then we watched Backstrap race from down there; unfortunately he didn't win (he came in third). At the huge, yummy buffet with all the variety of dishes, I primarily chose to enjoy strawberries and cakes. So, that ended up being some really expensive fruit.
