My first airplane ride

Ok, so it's not a real airplane. It's a ride-on airplane that Nona and Papa got for me last Christmas. When I was younger (a few months ago) I just liked pushing the buttons on the toy to turn on the propeller and sounds. Soon I was able to sit on it without falling off. I'm still not quite ready to push myself around, but Mommy and Daddy have found a way for me to ride on it. As you can see, I was a bit confused by this new "game" and wasn't sure what to think about it.

Trying to play ball with Chopper

Besides eating and sleeping, one of my favorite things to do is play with Chopper. But, we don't always like to play at the same time; sometimes he likes to roll the ball to me when I am busy with other toys and other times he isn't as interested in me no matter what I do. Mommy caught us on video the other day playing ball, but Chopper didn't seem very excited about it. Maybe he'll get a little more motivated the next time Mommy has the camera out.

New toy

One of my favorite toys is the TMX Elmo that Lola and Papo gave me for my birthday. He likes to fall and laugh a lot, and I like to give him kisses. Mommy wishes that I would give her as many kisses as I give him.

12-month appointment

Mommy and I went to see the doctor yesterday for my well visit . . . and I decided that I do not like him. I thought that he was a good doctor a long time ago (especially since he is a Longhorn and went to medical school with my Uncle Cesar), but not only does he make those nurse ladies give me those unnecessary shots each time I go there, he emphasized to Mommy that I really need to give up my bottle! He obviously does not know anything because I really need my morning bottle. Also, I felt fine before we went to his office, but last night I couldn't sleep because I had a fever- so he actually made me sick! What kind of shots were those and what kind of a doctor is he?

This is a picture of us at my first appointment . . . back when I liked him (but you can't tell from this photo).

Day after birthday party

There was so much food left over from my birthday party yesterday that we had the neighbors over tonight to enjoy it again. It turned into a semi-block party complete with the Soliz's mini bounce house. I'm not quite sure what white trash looks like, especially since I'm half Asian, but I think this might have been it.

I finally turned one!

I am finally twelve months old! Lola and Papo came to town from San Antonio on Thursday night and helped Mommy and Daddy so much for my big party. It was a beautiful day and about 80 people that came to the park to celebrate with me (I didn't realize that I had that many friends). You'd think that I would have been really excited about it and have wanted play with everyone, but I mostly preferred hanging out with Mommy of course.

I had the cutest (and biggest) bug cake ever and after everyone sang Happy Birthday to me, I was supposed to dig into my own little cake, but I don't like getting my hands dirty (I'm anal, just like my parents).

I was so tired afterwards and I got so many gifts that it took a couple of days to open all of them up. Actually, I was more interested in the bags and paper than the actual gifts. A lot of people could have saved some money if they had known that beforehand.

On my birthday . . .

And then the next day . . .

Thanks to all my good friends and family for celebrating my big day with me!

Mommy's first Mother's Day

For Mommy's first Mother's Day, Daddy took her out to eat sushi Saturday night. I was asleep at home with a babysitter, but I didn't mind missing out on that because I'm not sure about that green wasabi stuff. On Sunday he gave her a "duty-free" day. I don't understand why she needed that because taking care of me and the house isn't much effort at all- I hear them say all the time that it's a whipping, but I really like that Cool Whip kind. Then, we had dinner at Nona and Papa's and I played with my cousins Kyleigh and Mikinley. I even gave Kyleigh a few kisses.

Baby Peyton Reid

Yesterday we went to the hospital to visit Mommy's friends, Miss Julie and Mr. Derek, and to see my new friend, Peyton Reid (love the name). He was so cute and tiny with the coolest hair. I didn't get a picture with him, though. Mommy didn't want me to get too close because Peyton might catch my germs . . . what are germs?

My baseball

This past weekend I showed my folks how much I liked my baseball (follow the link below). Daddy had been trying to get me to play with it more often because he wants me to join college baseball at Texas when I get older. He even put a soft toy baseball in my crib to sleep with at night; actually, it just gets in the way whenever I roll over but I don't complain.

My new blog

I wanted to start this blog so that I can update all my loved ones far away with my new developments. I will even be able to post videos of myself whenever my mom figures out how to upload to Google Video.
My birthday is in two weeks and Mom and Dad have planned a party for me. They tell me that they can't believe that I'm already a year old and they keep reminiscing about when I was a newborn. Apparently I wasn't sleeping through the night (I can't imagine not getting my sleep), wanted to eat all the time, and cried a lot at night. Maybe that's why they always looked so tired.

In the past 11 months I have mastered many things including sleeping, crying, and making dirty diapers. I am now crawling everywhere, pulling up on everything, starting to cruise, and climbing stairs- I cannot stand to sit still for a second and my poor parents are wiped out. Fortunately for them, my favorite past time is sleeping so I still take two naps with an early bedtime everyday. I want to eat whatever my parents are eating and prefer drinking from a straw during meals (but I am going to be very upset when Mommy takes away my bottle). My bottom row of teeth finally evened out when I got my 8th tooth in, and I didn't fuss about it at all. Finally, I love dancing to music, being read to, watching my favorite show The Wiggles (much to my father's dismay) . . . and did I mention sleeping?
